Maureen Ahmed and her family moved here in the summer of 2003. Having retired from the crazy IT world in California, she missed the people she was overseeing as a manager. In a solutions-oriented career, one can see the similarities to working in real estate.

Not one for sitting idle, she began to tutor in her son's 1st-grade class at Villas Elementary in Fort Myers, and what an experience that was! Such great teachers, and so much warmth and knowledge from this amazing group of people. Maureen still has the highest regard and praises the teachers at Villas, the staff at Cypress Lake Middle School and the incredible group at Ft. Myers High School. Their son is now finishing up his schooling in California and he didn't get there all by himself…thank you to all the teachers and the professionals it takes to raise a child…it really does take a village.

After retiring and tutoring, there was an "aha" moment. It actually was her husband who suggested filling in her time outside the school hours with real estate which was again another way to stay in touch with people -- just now it was helping them find their new home. Mission solved!

Maureen is a member of the Royal Palm Coast Realtor Association and the Sanibel Captiva Island Association of Realtors and is studying for her FL broker's license. In addition to holding a National Association of Realtors real estate license, she is also certified in: CDPE (Certified Distressed Property Expert), SCIS (Sanibel Captiva Island Specialist), RSPS (Resort & Second Property Specialist) and ABR (Accredited Buyer's Representative).  

When asked by anyone "when will you retire?" she says, "been there...done that and it didn't work out"!
